can insulation be put under existing hardwood floor that has be installed over concrete aggregate porch? | |
we had an addition added where a screen porch with an aggregate/concrete floor was. the concrete slab in just that, not crawl space. the contractor laid the 2x4's and plywood down to form the subfloor and then the flooring guy did his part. my room is beautiful and functional. however, since it's completion last nov. we have had to have the flooring contractro back out to fix the floor where is has separated due to temperature changes. the floor butts up to my existing hardwood in the kitchen which is nice and warm. but the new part is so cold you hardly want to walk on it. this makes keeping the whole area warm a big challenge.
should my contractor have done things differently? what can be done now about the uncomfortable state of the floor in my new addition?
sorry so wordy,

hi cindy, yes, insulation can be installed on your hardwood floor. better for you to contact a local contractor or the one who made the flooring and ask for some advise on what material and how much it will cost you. but definitely, it can be insulated.
