urethane foam directly on roof sheathing

i'm building a small work shop that has turned into a larger temp home while i am building our other "permenant" home. due to the loft area above the main floor being built with 2x6 truss material, little room is avalible for standard air gap and fiberglass insulation. we have come to the conlusion that urethane foam would be best for this application. there has been some contriversy conserning wood rot of the 2x6 and sheathing of the roof if the foam is sprayed directly on the open surfaces. the roof is 12/12 pitch, tar papered and shingled. this gives the nice walk through loft area. some folks are saying the tar paper will condensate and thus allow mosture into the sheathing and causing them to rot if foam is applied. this i guess is concidered a hot roof -vs- a cold roof. is this true or over reaction?

the concern is valid, the foam may rot as it a soft material and not for long term material for insulation. but you have no choice, there is no enough space for a fiberglass insulation. i guess you have make do with foam and replace it when needed.
