In need of advice on how to best insulate crawl space under my home

I live in wyoming and recently bought a home. it is a year old. It is two stories and has a crawl space under the first floor that is about 5' high. The bottom floor is really cold while the upstairs remains warm. There is no insulation on the ceiling of the crawl space. I am thinking about insulating that area - any pointers?
