Which R-Value Should I Choose for My Project?

Determining a certain R-value that has to be chosen is extremely hard and actually there are many factors that have to taken into consideration when calculating the R-value based on what the insulation material will be chosen. First of all the humidity and weather conditions the house is situated in, basically the location. Secondly, what kind of heating will be later on used in the house as it also is one factor affecting the humidity level inside the house. Thirdly, one important factor is the condition the house is in before the insulation is being installed, which means that if it either is a new or an old house. In addition, it matters whether previously there has been some old insulation or if the insulation will be installed on completely new surface.

Based on the following factors some calculations can be made either by professional insulation installers or also some web sites offer that possibility, anyway based on them a certain insulation solution will be recommended which is the most suitable one for your home. To sum up, when choosing the insulation for your home be sure that you base your decision on the R-value and not on the thickness or weight of the insulation material and ask for help to find out the most suitable R-value for your project.
