Best method to insulate poured concrete basement

If a house was build a long time ago when proper insulation was not used than living there means higher bills for heating just because of lack of insulation. If you are doing something about it and trying to fix the previous insulation or install at least some insulation, you should not forget about the basement. But that is a lot of hard work, especially if you have a poured concrete basement. It might seem hard at first but afterwards you will be thankful that you had installed that insulation in the basement if your floors are no longer as cold as they used to.

So what should you do? First of all, insert insulation foam into all of the openings in the poured concrete. This foam will expand after it has been inserted and thus fills the gaps as much as it is possible. Secondly, now you have an opportunity to choose which kind of insulation you want to use. Basically all of the opportunities mean that you will have to install some kind of an insulation material on the floor and then cover it with floor tiles as it is more or less the only way how to insulate a poured concrete basement.
