I know insulation helps keep heat in during the winter months, but is there any benefit to having it

We all know that houses are insulated to keep the warmth in during the winter to reduce the heating costs, thus installing insulation might seem as not a very good idea if you live in an area where although winter are rather chilling and then you would benefit from a proper insulation, summers are way to hot to do something to leave more heat in the house. Actually it is not so, proper insulation not only decreased your heating costs in the winter, but also your cooling costs in the summer. Thus, although you might not know it yet but you will gain from having insulation during the whole year.

So how does it work? In fact the principles are the same for keeping the cool air inside the house as they are for the warm air. Basically, the insulation will stop the air movements between the outside and the inside of the house, irrelevant what season it is.

To conclude, yes there are benefits from having insulation also in the summer as it was already said many times before that it will take less to keep the air inside your home at a lower level than it is in the outside.
