Mineral Wool Insulation

Mineral wool which is also known as rock wool and slag wool is a widely used material for insulation – not only is it used in insulating houses but also elsewhere – boats, caravans, various pipes, offices etc.

Mineral wool consists of synthetic materials; fibreglass is also one of them.

Mineral wool is the most tested insulation material and the tests show that mineral wool is highly fire-resistant, with incredible insulation capabilities and provides great sound insulation as well. Mineral wool is not specially treated to acquire fire-resistant features. Various tests show that the material is not hazardous to health.

Mineral wool insulation helps reduce heating costs as it will keep the warm air in which would otherwise escape through the walls or gaps in walls, around the windows or doors. Most often it is used in insulating ceilings, roofs, internal as well as external walls.

Mineral wool consists of fibers which are airborne, which is why a mask should be used when installing mineral wool insulation to avoid the dust to irritate your respiratory system.

This type of insulation is guaranteed to keep your house safe and warm while saving you money at the same time.
